Richard Kim, M.D.

Richard Kim, MD, is a critical care specialist and pulmonologist at Pulmonary Medicine Associates in Sacramento, California. He’s a member of the practice’s IT advisory committee and routinely provides important pulmonology services to patients, both in person and with convenient tele-ICU care. He often treats emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary hypertension, and asbestosis. 

Dr. Kim earned his bachelor’s degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He then completed his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York City. He continued his training with an internship, residency, and fellowship at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in Manhattan, New York City. 

Dr. Kim has held multiple leadership positions at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento, California. To make sure he stays up to date on the latest developments in his fields, he holds professional memberships in the American Medical Association, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society. 

When he’s not providing advanced pulmonology care at Pulmonary Medicine Associates, Dr. Kim spends most of his free time skiing, golfing, and enjoying activities with his wife and two children.
